HRM TOOL FOR MARICO : A BUSINESS APPLICATION



Marico is one of India’s leading Consumer Products & services companies in the global beauty and wellness space. From its foundations, Marico has worked the box, to bring innovation to its customers through the careful creation of continuous & sustainable change.

Today, 1 out of 3 Indians uses a Marico Product. From cooking oil, to rice that keeps you active, personlised skinscription services and hair oil that comes with a battery-powered head massager, Marico believes that it pays to think differently.

We have a relatively flat organisational structure, with just eight levels between the Board of Directors and the Engineers/ Shop floor operatives. We believe in tranforming the lives of all stakeholders be it our suppliers, farmers, distributors or shareholders by helping them maximise their true potential adn it truely articulates the true Mariconian spirit - to be more.

Our vast portfolio of enduring brands such as Parachute Advanced, Saffola, Lux etc are leading names today. Marico also provides packaging services to certain companies. Our consumers transcend countries and customs. We are a company that believes in challenging the status quo, to create growth and continuity in change.

PROBLEM STATEMENT :

Ms. Deepti Anand, CEO of the company, feels that as MARICO is a fast growing organisation, there should there should be a more sophisticated way of combining several traditional management functions into a logical integrated system. The CEO also needs to improve the flow of information across these functions. Moreover there should be serious steps taken to improve the HR policies and planning, Performance management and training etc.

SOLUTION :

To achieve all this, a new HR management team was bought in and they used x10hosting to decide which software to use to implement the new HRM system.

OrangeHRM is built on top of the AMP (Apache, MySQL, PHP) stack. This allows us to provide a lightweight and robust system based on open source technologies.
